Feed Rations for Lates Calcarifer

 

Feeding the aquacultured tropical fish right is one of the most important parts of the job.  Fish food is easily the largest expense in RAS type farming. However, there is next to no graphs of accurate feeding rates available in internet.  Graphs provided by food factories are either inaccurate or incomplete. I had to dig through hundreds of web pages in order to figure out the optimal rations of feeding Barramundi.

Below you can find my calculations based on the information I managed to find.

This should prove to be the most precice info available to date. If used in best conditions and best food composition, the average FCR of maximum 1.25 can be reached even when growing your Barramundi up to 3kg. If fish is raised up to plate size, then FCR can be as good as 1.15 or better.
